Just think of the thousands of people that will buy a newspaper, for the first time, if he wins. If I were Barack Obama, I'd probably feel used by the news media, but I understand he does not even listen to it, or read the newspapers. It is true the news media supported Obama, but it did it for a different reason than believing he would make a great president.

While in the Illinois Senate, Barack objected in committee to the bill offered as the Illinois version of the existing law, the Federal 'Born Alive Infants Protection Act'. After the committee amended the bill to exactly reflect the wording of the Federal Act, he voted against it and the bill was killed in the committee as the result. BAIPA protects, and the Illinois bill that Barack voted to kill would have protected, those babies who survive an abortion and were then being abandoned with no treatment, care, or support to die. Imagine simply making a choice based on what a candidate will do for the nation. Instead, we see an onslaught of lies, half-truths and deliberate deception to trigger American's to stop thinking and vote based on emotion rather than informed facts. Imagine the number of Americans who believed that John Kerry who volunteered to go to Vietnam was less patriotic than two men who avoided the draft at all cost....Cheney actually getting 5 deferrments. It is no different that a sports fan who claims his team is the best, choosing to ignore thier winless record. Think about those who have lied to gain political power: Mao, Stalin, Hitler.....nice company. The mentality that we see here that produces such political tactics is a greater threat to America than all the falsehoods printed in blogs and websites like the one here.
